TOWN OF CANANDAIGUA ELECTION ISSUES
The November 2025 election is an opportunity for Canandaigua citizens to vote for responsible leadership that prioritizes our community, respects different viewpoints and works to unite us
The current Town Board tripled the Town Supervisor salary and has mismanaged Town Personnel
We will review Town government spending and roll back the Supervisor's salary. The Town is paying for two administrators - the Town Manager at $144,000 per year and the Supervisor at $68,000 - which is redundant and a poor use of our funds.
There is a significant lack of transparency in budgeting, financial planning and spending
As stewards of public funds, the Town Board has a fiduciary duty to protect the town's financial status and ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance in all financial matters. We expect honest and transparent use of public funds. A proactive approach to fiscal management builds public trust and demonstrates a commitment to sound governance.
Currently, the Town Board is comprised solely of Republicans
Promote inclusive representation by ensuring every voice is heard and all values are respected. If elected, our candidates will bring new perspectives to town management.
The Town can do much more to advocate for and execute initiatives that will benefit our entire community
Incentivize composting and recycling to reduce garbage removal expenses. Review town parks utilization, consider new or upgrades to sidewalks, walking paths, playgrounds, bike trails and lake access
Participate in programs which offer help to local governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate with grants, rebates for electric vehicles, and free technical assistance, such as the NY State Climate Smart Communities Program
